Fighting Comparison + Bible Plan Recommendation

Hey friends!

I know it can be hard to find contentment sometimes. I struggle with contentment a lot.

One of the biggest reasons that discontentment happens is, COMPARISON. 

Yup. I said it. Comparison.

There is so much comparison that is always going on in our world. One of the biggest reasons people compare themselves so much is social media.

You see someone else and their life looks perfect on there. But in reality, it’s really not. Nobody is perfect. 

It’s ok to look at someone’s pictures and think they’re pretty, but you should not look at those pictures and then start comparing yourself to them. It’s very unhealthy to do that. It can hurt you so much to do it. 

Sure, I do it every once in a while, but I always start praying or ask a friend to pray for me. Or I get off of social media for a couple days. 

Social media can be SO fun, but other times it can be damaging to someone who really struggles with insecurities isn’t being careful.

When we feel discontented, just go to God. People, go to God with everything. He’s there for you NO. MATTER. WHAT.

He loves us so much and wants us to come and talk to him. He loves to help us work through our problems.

We need to be thankful for what we have. I know sometimes I’m not and when I realize it, I usually will get mad at myself. But all I need to do is repent and ask forgiveness.

If we look around at what we have, we will realize that we are so blessed. We are blessed to even be able to wake up in the morning and breathe. So why do we always want more?

Because the world tells us we need more. We see other people doing so much more than us and we become discontent.

I did a Bible plan in the summer and it really helped me with my comparison struggles. I still struggle with it a little bit but this definitely helped.

Denner Tree Day

Hey friends!!!

Our family has a day every year that we all go out to get our Christmas tree and go shopping! It’s always such a great time! Sadly, we were missing 6 other family members because they had work or weren’t able to come into town. 🥺

But we had fun and were successful in getting TWO trees this year!!!

Summer Drive Playlist

Hey there!

I just made a summer drive playlist a couple weeks ago! I love to drive around with the windows down and blast the music! Especially with my family. We love jamming.

4th of July Pictures + Siblings

My bestest friend EVER! She’s getting married in 83 DAYYYSSS! I’m so excited to be her Maid of Honor! First time being a Maid of Honor and I am beyond excited!

My sister in-law Lauren! She and Phil (my brother) celebrated their second wedding anniversary last month! AHHH,  SO CRAZY! 

My Beks babe! She and Matt (my brother) celebrated their 1 month anniversary on Sunday! Man how the time flies by. 😱 

GABI! She’s the cutest and is growing up WAY to quick 😭 She’s 13 going on 30. HAHA! Also, she started a blog and you should totally go check it out. She’s so excited to have started it and would love for you to follow along with her!  Check it out here.

This adorable babe gets two pictures because why not?? She’s SO CUTE. It makes me so happy and sad that she’s growing up. I miss the days when I got to hold her as a baby, but I so enjoy having conversations with her and hanging out with her. She’s quite a character and is always makin’ us laugh and always is so silly.

Being Single As a Teen Girl

Hey friends!

Today I thought I’d talk about being single as a teen girl.

Most girls our age are either in a relationship or would really like to be in one.

I am currently not in a relationship and I am totally okay with that! But if I had talked with you about this in December/January, I would not tell you that. 

Over the past few months I came to realize that I am NOT ready for a relationship. 

See, the way I look at it is that I’m not ready to get married anytime soon. So why start a relationship this young? And I know that lots of people have different opinions.

But I don’t want to get myself into a relationship when I’m still in high school and trying to figure out what I’m going to do with my life.

Not gonna lie. Every once in a while I will get the lonely feeling that I want to be in a relationship. Because it is nice to have someone there to talk to all the time and know you have someone. But, that shouldn’t be your reason for dating. You should be dating the person because they could be a possible spouse.

Whenever I get that feeling and I know I’m not ready, I go to the Lord and ask him to take the feeling away. And it goes away and I’m totally fine!

Another thing, I was in a “relationship” at the beginning of the year and I realized I wasn’t ready and also that I wasn’t interested anymore. That’s something important we girls need to realize. 

If we can tell we aren’t interested anymore, we can’t keep it going just because you don’t want to hurt his feelings. If you keep it going, you’re going to lead the guy on and he’ll get even more hurt.

The media makes it seem like we should all have a boyfriend. But you shouldn’t start dating till you know you’re ready, which is God’s timing. 

If you are in the single stage and are really wanting a boyfriend, I would encourage you to really take this time to spend more time with your family and with God. He wants you to come to him and wants to comfort you. Because he’s in control. He’s not wringing his hands because you don’t have a boyfriend. It is all HIS timing. He’s not worried.
